Choosing the right lighting doesn’t have to be complicated. Below are the most common questions we get—answered clearly so you can move forward with confidence.

How bright are Ranch Hand Solar Lighting Systems?

Our systems are designed to provide strong, usable lighting for real-world applications like arenas, barns,  parking areas, and properties.

However, solar lighting should be planned differently than traditional wired lighting. For similar results, most applications perform best at approximately a 1:1.5 ratio (wired to solar).

👉 More lights = more coverage and better results.

Q1: How bright are these compared to wired lights? A: Ranch Hand systems provide strong, usable lighting for real-world applications. For best results, plan solar lighting at approximately a 1:1.5 ratio compared to wired systems.

Q2: How many lights do I need? A: For most arenas we recommend spacing of 50 linear feet. ex: 100x200 arena → 8-10 PRO Series or 12 1000W systems 150x300 arena → 14–16 PRO Series. Q3: What’s the difference between PRO Series and 1000W? A: PRO Series → large areas, maximum output, ON/OFF ONLY, does not include a pole system, mounts to pre-existing 2-3/8" or 2-7/8" pole 1000W → medium areas, general use, auto dusk to dawn or ON/OFF only, does include a pole either a fence mount pole kit or a retrofit kit 3ft pole for pre-existing poles. 👉 Not sure which one fits your setup? Q4: Is solar lighting as good as wired lighting? A: Solar lighting offers major advantages: No trenching No electrician No monthly electric bills While it performs differently than wired systems, when properly planned, it provides reliable, effective lighting for most applications.

☁️ PERFORMANCE & RELIABILITY

Q1: Will the lights work on cloudy days? A: Yes. Our systems are designed to charge in both sunny and cloudy conditions. Performance may vary depending on sun exposure, but systems are built for consistent, dependable use year-round in all climates.

Q2: How long do the lights run at night? A: Most systems provide: 8–12 hours of runtime on a full charge Runtime can vary based on: Weather conditions Season Usage settings *Auto dusk-dawn lights will have up to a 72 hour run time if left on their auto dusk to dawn setting

Q3: What is the lifespan of the lights? A: LED lifespan: ~50,000 hours System lifespan: Up to 10 years depending on use and maintenance

Q4: How far do the lights reach? A: All of our lighting options have different light output capabilities. Please visit the product page in our store for light output and recommended spacing and mounting height suggestions. *note most of our lights provide a radius of light - meaning light radiates outward in a 1/2 circle from the center of the light pole. Ex: Pro Series at a mounted height of 25ft will have an approximate radius of light that is 80-100 total feet. (40-50ft to each side of the pole and 80-90ft out from the pole facing forward)

🔧 INSTALLATION

Q1: Do I need an electrician? A: No. All Ranch Hand systems are designed for easy, self-installation with no wiring required.

Q2: What do I need to install the system? A: Most systems include everything required for mounting. You may need: Basic tools Proper mounting surface (pole, fence, or structure depending on system)

Q3: Can I install these on any pole or structure? A: It depends on the system: PRO Series → Requires a 2-3/8" OD pole Fence Mount Systems → Include pole + mounting hardware Other systems vary by application 👉 Check product details or call us for confirmation.

Q4: Where can I find Installation Instructions A: All of our installation manuals are available by scanning the INSTALL GUIDE QR code on your package or you can access them on our website under the Policies and Guides Tab.

🔋 OPERATION & CONTROLS

Q1: How do the lights turn on and off? A: Depending on the system, you can choose: Dusk-to-dawn automatic operation ON/OFF only control with remote convenience

Q2: Can I control multiple lights with one remote? A: Yes. Many of our systems allow you to control multiple lights from a single remote.

Q3: Are there different settings? A: Yes. Many of our systems allow you to control brightness and timer settings. Please refer to your specific system in our Polices and Guides section for instructions on how to work your included remote control.

Q1: What is the warranty on Ranch Hand Solar Lighting systems? A: Most systems include a 1-year manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty applies to manufacturer-related issues—not damage from installation, misuse, or environmental factors. Q2: How do I submit a warranty claim? A: Navigate to our Technical and Warranty Support page for detailed instructions and a step by step process. Q3: How long does a warranty claim take? A: Claims are typically reviewed within 3–5 business days. If approved, replacement or repair timelines will be provided. Q4: What is NOT covered under warranty? Q1: What should I do if my light is not working? A: Start with basic troubleshooting (reset procedure). Available on our Technical and Warranty Support Page. Most issues are resolved quickly with simple steps. If the issue continues, submit a support request with photos/video.

Q2: How do I contact technical support? A: All support requests are handled via email visit our Technical and Warranty Support Page for detailed instructions on how to submit a technical support ticket. 👉 This allows our team to review photos/video and provide faster, more accurate solutions.

Q3: Why is support handled through email instead of phone? A: Email allows us to: Review detailed information Analyze photos/videos Provide accurate troubleshooting Verify purchase history 👉 This leads to faster and more effective resolution.

Q4: How long does it take to receive support? A: Most support requests are reviewed within 3–5 business days.

📦ORDERS, SHIPPING & RETURNS

Q1: How do I check my order status? A: For the most up to date order status please email customerservice@rhsolarlighting.com with your name and order number.

Q2: What are your lead times? A: Every Ranch Hand system is American made and built to order in Brenham, Texas—not mass-produced. This ensures quality, but also means lead times vary based on demand. 👉 Most orders ship within 2–4 weeks with special order items (Pro Series) 6-10 weeks after order placement. Please review your product page or contact us for current lead times. Ordering sooner helps secure your place in production.

Q3: How long does shipping take? A: Shipping times vary by product: Standard systems: typically 2–4 weeks Made-to-order systems: 6–10+ weeks depending on demand Once shipped from our facility you can expect to receive your order in 3-12 business days depending on it your order was shipped via parcel carrier or LTL freight. 👉 Contact us for current lead times.

Q4: Why are your lead times longer than most? A: We’re a family-owned, Texas-based manufacturer, and every Ranch Hand system is built to order—not pulled from a shelf. That means higher quality and better performance, but also longer lead times. Q5: What happens if my order arrives damaged? A: Transit damage must be reported within 14 days of delivery. Photos of packaging and product are required 👉 Damage not reported within this timeframe may not be eligible for claim. Please visit our Technical and Warranty Support page for detailed instructions on how to submit a transit damage claim.

Q6: Can I cancel my order after placing it? A: Orders already in production or marked as special order may not be canceled. You can view our cancelation policy in detail in Terms and Conditions of Sale on our Policies and Guides page.

Q7: What is your return policy? A: Due to the nature of our products: Standard products MAY be eligible for return per policy.
